MTS Announces New Test Method ASTM F2853 for Lead in Paint

November 30, 2011

MTS Acquires HDXRF Technology to Test Heavy Metals in Surface Coatings

Modern Testing Services has made a significant investment in HDXRF,  a new method for testing lead and other heavy elements in paint and surface coatings.  HDXRF screening was approved by the CPSC in March of this year and is far more reliable than traditional XRF methods, providing wet chemistry precision without destroying the sample piece.  The HDXRF technique is approved by the CPSC specifically for fulfilling 16 CFR Part 1303, the “lead paint rule”, with the ASTM designation ASTM F2853-10.
